HEALTH AND ILLNESS IN THE EPISTOLARY OF 16TH CENTURY.
ABSTRACT: We studied health through 226 letters written in Catalan
by two ladies in the 16th century, finding that 179 of them contain
information related to health, 64.5% described the health of women
and 90.5% the health status of other people. The figures corroborate
the traditional commitment of women to domestic health. The
collection of letters provides information on diseases, remedies,
and some health workers.
